THIRD YEAR

Third year… already over. I can’t believe I’m three-fourths done with college. COLLEGE!! It’s one thing to remember thinking we’re almost done with high school, but college?! Ack!! I feel like my whole life is slowly setting like wet concrete, and it’s already set enough that my feet are stuck for good. A change of majors (even if I was considering it) would be out of the question this far along. Internships will (hopefully) become job offers for our careers (CAREERS!!). The classes we have left to take are totally set. Our graduation date is already entered into URSA for record purposes. For the second time in about 4 years, I’ll be donning a graduation cap and gown, only black this time instead of (*sniff*) light blue. And I’ll be hearing “The Sons of Westwood” playing as I retreat into Pauley Pavilion with my fellow SEAS grads, putting our college lives behind us forever.

My, God. So soon?

Third year was another group of firsts. Apartment life was a first, living with Chrissy and Meghan in our little two bedroom, two bathroom apartment right across the street from campus. Not living on the same floor as Bobby was another first… no DORM food, too. Paying bills and rent and dealing with stupid landlords. All these adult-like things to take care of. I had my car in LA for the first time, too.

And the memories are my favorite. All the porch parties and date parties and apartment parties and regular parties, going to birthday dinners at Cheesecake Factory and Hard Rock Café, driving all over LA like Melrose, Beverly Hills, the beaches, Torrance, etc., midnight yells in the apartments (electrical parade and all!), the girls nights in with videos and junk food, clubbing, everything.

I knew it was going to be quick, but this is incredible. I have to take advantage of my 4th and final year at UCLA. I can’t wait to get started! And then it’s off to the Real World….
