La Passacaglia: Progress

I was on a bit of a roll since June in terms of my LaPas until the last month or so, when work and family stuff took over my life and my progress screeched to a halt. But I finished another rosette over the weekend, so I thought I'd post some progress!

Teacher Gifts

Toward the end of April, Arizona public schools along with many of their staff and families were moved to put pressure on their governor and legislators to push for better funding for the schools and better pay for our teachers and support staff. Our schools are vastly underfunded and our staff are dreadfully underpaid, and following in other states' methods for bringing these dire conditions to the public eye and demand to be heard, a state-wide teacher walk-out happened. We stood proudly with our PTA and staff and fully support the RedForEd movement that swept through the state. It was a wonderful way to expose Evelyn to how a democracy works, and we participated in several walk-ins at her school, donated to unpaid support staff and their families during the walk-outs, and made and held up signs in our neighborhood with other students and teachers.

La Passacaglia: Progress (and a Change)

It's been almost six months since my last LaPas post and I've actually made quite a bit of progress! First, the rosettes I've made since:

Family Hawaii Trip, 2018!

Over Evie's Spring Break, we took our dad to Hawaii for his 70th birthday (which was in January)! Todd, Evie, and I flew to San Jose, spent a night there, and then flew to Kailua-Kona airport with my dad the next day. My sister and brother-in-law got there (and left) a day before us, so they met us there.
